Dying Victims Productions is proud to announce the following new releases:
DVP 289 Pagan Altar – Judgement of the Dead LP/CD
DVP 290 Pagan Altar – The Time Lord LP/CD
DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to reissue PAGAN ALTAR’S cult releases, Judgement of the Dead and The Time Lord, on CD and vinyl LP formats.
While the band is working hard on the upcoming new album, these reissues kick off the collaboration between the British Doom Metal pioneers PAGAN ALTAR and Dying Victims Productions. Based on the beautifully crafted releases on Canada’s Temple of Mystery, these important recordings will finally return into circulation.
Originally recorded back in 1978-79, “The Time Lord” features Pagan Altar’s earliest recordings. Two of these flawlessly executed tracks are from a 24-track recording session, and the rest of the album are early, atmospheric versions of songs that were later re-recorded on Judgement of the Dead. This LP includes a long-lost, never-heard before version of “Night Rider”, from the same era as the other songs! This is pure doom metal sorcery.
Originally recorded in 1982 during the NWOBHM movement, Pagan Altar’s debut album, Judgement of the Dead, is a timeless classic of macabre heavy/doom metal centered around magic, witchcraft, and the occult. This holy grail album is one of the purest, most magical records that were ever written, and had a tremendous influence on the heavy/doom metal scene.

DVP 291 Freeways – Dark Sky Sanctuary LP/CD
DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present the highly anticipated second album of Canada’s FREEWAYS, Dark Sky Sanctuary, on CD and vinyl LP formats.
FREEWAYS are comprised of four old friends from the peripheral fringes of the greater Toronto area who decided to channel their shared love of dollar-bin Canadian hard rock records and poorly ripped recordings of NWOBHM they’ll never afford into a nearly decades-long pursuit of seeing how far they can play from home and how many drink tickets they can accumulate at a single gig. So far, that plan has produced a handful thrilling of short-lengths (on both tape and 7” format) and an absolutely stunning debut album, True Bearings, released in 2020 by the late/great Temple of Mystery Records.
And True Bearings was presciently titled: this was the sound of FREEWAYS hitting a fever pitch of hard rock glory, plaintive and poignant and positively bleeding pathos every step of the rough, wild way. That widely celebrated debut LP took the band overseas again that spring, where they were even-more-warmly received by rivetheads old and young. With the untimely closing of said label and their growing throng of fans in Europe, DYING VICTIMS stepped in to reissue True Bearings last year, setting the stage for their hotly anticipated follow-up.
At last, it’s here in the form of Dark Sky Sanctuary. Whereas the debut’s cover art (partly) forecasted its contents – cold and cutting on the surface, with a wealth of warmth lurking within that figurative RV – so does the cover art of Dark Sky Sanctuary similarly suggest its sonic arc. The effervescent elan of FREEWAYS is in full force here, except that that’s daubed in hues darker for the band and perhaps a bit thornier as a result. On Dark Sky Sanctuary, the quartet’s fueled by a fire here that sees them both exploring their busier & more aggressive side as equally as their stripped-back & pensive one. It’s difficult to truly qualify the latter as “poppier,” but it’s not impossible to view the moodier side of turn-of-the-‘80s radio rock through FREEWAYS’ unique, ever-engaging lens.
Somehow rougher and more polished, Dark Sky Sanctuary is a sonic safe haven for those who still hold hope for heavy rock as an authentically emotional artform. FREEWAYS are fully recommended for fans of Blue Öyster Cult, Wishbone Ash, Praying Mantis…and FREEWAYS!

DVP 292 Lady Beast – Lady Beast II LP
DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to reissue LADY BEAST’s cult second album, Lady Beast II, on vinyl LP format.
Since 2009, LADY BEAST have been flying the flag for refined HEAVY METAL. The band hail from the Steel City of Pittsburgh, forming with firm influences ranging from Motörhead, Dio, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Mercyful Fate. From there, LADY BEAST have weaved their own unique style of metal with silky-yet-sharp harmonizing guitars and the soaring, rally-the-warriors vocals of frontwoman Deborah Levine. All the while, they’ve retained their blue-collar roots but have never forgotten the majesty of metal in its earliest, most classic form: fantasy, magic, epic adventure, and of course ANTHEMS!
While the quintet have released four full-lengths to date, it was LADY BEAST’s second album, 2015’s Lady Beast II, which could be viewed as their “breakout” moment. Released like their self-titled debut on their own Cobra Cabana Records, the original version of Lady Beast II was a vinyl edition limited to only 250 copies; the CD version followed later on Infernö Records, which closed a couple years ago. Thus, Lady Beast II has been criminally out of print, and DYING VICTIMS will now rectify that with a new vinyl version featuring remastered sound and updated cover art. Whatever year you experience it, LADY BEAST’s second album is a stormer, strutting and galloping with equal might, as instantly-hummable riffs prop up all these anthems-to-be whilst evincing a narrative flow that’s the quintessence of swords & sorcery. Of course, Levine’s vocals exude passion and power, pure & total EMOTION, and her performance here helped put LADY BEAST atop of the keep-it-true pack. Raise your sword again or for the first time with this new vinyl version of Lady Beast II!”

DVP 296 Vulture – Sentinels MC
DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present VULTURE’s fourth album, Sentinels, on music cassette format. Licensed from Metal Blade.
The German five piece is back with a new full length, filled to the brim with raging speed metal anthems. At this point VULTURE will sound like VULTURE, but at the same time they keep refining their song material to be even more catchy, fast and wild.
